Treatments and Help for Dysthymia and Depression
The best known treatment for depression are antidepressants such as Prozac, but it does not work for everyone. Fortunately there are many other anti depressants and a vast array of alterative's both in terms of alterative medication such as St Johns Wort, along with therapies and counseling. We give a guide to these on our Treatments page, along with help when with problems related to dysthymia and coping with them on our coping page.
Experiences of Sufferers
The reason for starting this site is that in 1996 I was diagnosed with Dysthymia by a consultant Psychiatrist, at the time I had never heard of the illness, however from research I did it was likely I had suffered it from infancy. We would like others who suffer to come along and give there experiences thus help themselves and others to see they are not on there own.
